    BSBA Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) is intended to provide students with fundamental business management skills applicable in nearly every career field. Courses focus on multiple functional areas – Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Business Communication, Business Law and Ethics, Business Statistics, Information Systems, Finance, Operations Management, Marketing, Organizational Behavior and Leadership, Human Resource Management, Global Business, Strategic Management, Project Management, Sales, and Supply Chain Management.

    Format of Program

This degree program is offered in an online, competency-based education (CBE) format. Instead of the traditional semester schedule, there are subscription periods that are 12 weeks long. During this period students have access to the material and go at their own pace to complete the projects.

    Curriculum
The BSBA program is comprised of 120 total credit equivalencies, with 65 of the credits focused on business projects, 42-45 of the credits are general education, and 10-13 of the credits are electives. Please visit our curriculum page for more detailed information on the curriculum.
    Course Load

All BSBA students enroll in an All-You-Can-Learn subscription period where students can take as many courses in one subscription period as they'd like. New courses may also be added during the subscription period if time allows. Although there is no maximum on the number of courses a student can enroll in, everyone has an Academic Success Coach (ASC) to assist in determining the appropriate project load based on someone's situation and how much time is left in the subscription period.

The time needed weekly to dedicate towards this program will depend on your knowledge of the material, but on average you want to plan for about 3 hours per week of work per credit hour. If you are taking 4 credits, for example, plan for almost 12 hours, of work in a week.

    Support Services
Although there is less faculty interaction as compared to other types of online programs, throughout the program students have access to online tutors as well as a dedicated mentor called an Academic Success Coach (ASC). Please check-out our ASC page for more information on the types of support students receive.
    Tuition and Funding

Tuition is a flat rate of $2,250 per 12 week subscription period. Students pay this tuition amount no matter how many courses they are registered for, whether it be one or five. All payments are due by the 8th day of each subscription period.

This program is not Title IV eligible at this time, therefore federal financial aid is not offered. An institutional grant is offered to those who qualify, as well as veterans benefits. Students are also welcome to look into alternative loans, private scholarships, or workplace reimbursement.

    HLC Accreditation Status

University of Wisconsin-Parkside is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges & Schools, and by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-International (AACSB).

    Start Date Options

This program begins monthly for new students, view the Academic Calendar here. You need to have your application and all required documents and steps completed by the 1st of the month prior (e.g. all application documents on file by March 1st for a start date of April 2nd).

    Admission Guidelines

Below are the admission guidelines for this program.

      • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or General Education Development (GED).
      • At least 10 transferable college credits
      • If under the age of 22, an ACT or equivalent SAT is required.
      • Be in academically good standing when last enrolled.

    Application Steps
If you meet the above admission guidelines and are interested in moving further, please review the application steps. Transcripts can be accepted electronically via Parchment or Credentials. If you need to provide an email address for the UW Flexible Option to receive your official electronic transcripts, please use admissions@uwex.edu. If that is not an option for your institution, then please have your official transcripts mailed to us. If any of the institutions you attended were not in the United States, you will need to have your transcripts translated through an official course-by-course evaluation report, and have it mailed to us. We highly recommend using either ECE or WES for that translation service.
    Next Steps
    • Based on your chosen start date preference, all above application items would need to be submitted by the 1st of the month prior to your first subscription period. This includes having your online application submitted as well as any other application materials on file with our admissions office (i.e. application processing fee, official college transcript(s), and official high school transcript).
  • Please click the submit button below when finished. An Enrollment Adviser will follow up with you on your submitted questions and provide guidance on next steps.
