You can also use your current knowledge and prior experience to progress toward your degree—which may help save you time and money.

While traditional programs require students to sit through classes to accumulate credit-hours, UW Flexible Option’s competency-based format is all about what you know and are able to do. You’ll make progress by completing assessments or projects that prove you’ve mastered competencies—the skills and knowledge UW faculty and industry leaders have identified as essential to your chosen degree or certificate.
10th Anniversary
The UW Flexible Option first began admitting students in 2014. In that time, we’ve launched several degree and certificate programs and have graduated nearly 1,500 students. Current online programs include:
